Hi Everyone! We hope you had a
great week and happy Friday!
This week like many others, we
have been working on quite a few different projects. Now that our store in physically located in
Pawling, NY, we have been invited to attend different activities held in this
adorable little town. This Saturday,
November 15th we will be at the first annual Pawling Chocolate Festival at the Lathrop Center at Lakeside Park. We have put together different kits that can
be used to make great gifts. Some
examples are tote bags, wallets, aprons and pillowcases. If you are in the area, please stop by and
see us!
Huguenot Street
We are proud to be located in the beautiful Hudson
Valley. This area is filled with
historical landmarks, one of which is located in New Paltz, NY. In 1678, a group of families came to this
area in order to have the freedom to worship as they chose. Over many years this group made up of Indian,
French, Dutch, African, English, and other men and women created an entire village
of buildings and stories, creating a new identity as Americans . This area later became known as
Historic Huguenot Street. Today this
area is still preserved and open to the public.
Windham Fabrics reached out to us with a line of reproduction fabrics
based on the history of Huguenot Street , asking us to create a quilt
pattern. Using this beautiful line, known
as Windsong, we created Huguenot Revisited. This gorgeous pattern allows the beauty of
the fabrics to truly show the history of this area. This quilt is also
available as a pattern or kit on our website
Carousel
A few weeks ago I was inspired by the Carousel Line by Dear Stella. I wanted this
pattern to be fun and whimsical. Using
the main Carousel fabric as the center and adding a few pinwheels using Dear
Stella Mini Confetti, this quilt or duvet cover
came out exactly as I had hoped. I can
just imagine this quilt in a little girls’ room adding some color, fun and
imagination.
Cutie Patterns
Our creative juices have been working to come up
with so many different patterns that can be made by using our Cutie
Collections. In case you haven't heard,
we have started packaging the newest lines of fabrics into Cutie Packs. These packs include 16 Fat 1/8ths (9 inches
by 22 inches). By taking these 16
different fabrics and occasionally a background, border and lattice we have
started an entire line of patterns that can be used with any Cutie Pack, making
each quilt unique. We have already had
customers come in to show us the pattern they made using different packs and
they are all stunning! Last week I was
working on a cutie pattern using 2 cutie packs made using the Persimmon Line by Moda.
This queen size quilt came out exactly as I had
hoped! I still need to add the final border, but here is a sneak peak at the
final product
I have mentioned previously that we are also
redesigning our online store. Once this
is up and running, we will have all of our previous and new cutie patterns and
packs available. In the meantime, anyone
that may be local, please come and see us at 4D Oak Street Pawling, NY to see our newest creations!
Pawling is a great little village to see with a great restaurant, bakery, olive
oil store and much more!
Finally, I just wanted to share with you some of the
other newest lines we recently received in the shop. Andover Fabrics has released the newest Downton Abbey II Collection!
Last week we also received the newest Ultimate Spider-Man II Collection from Camelot Cottons. This fabric is perfect for backpacks, neck
ties, pillowcases and other projects for Spider-Man fans of all ages! These
fabrics are in stock and available on our website!
We also still have them American Made Brand Cotton Solids in stock, and just ordered

gift that has been grown by farmers and finished by you, completely in the
United States, this fabric is perfect!
