Quilt Market, Fabric Sales and New Arrivals!

Hi Everyone!!

It has been a very busy last few weeks!!  My parents, Carter, and I all went to Minneapolis for Quilt Market on the 15th. I have to admit I was so nervous about the flights and layovers with an almost 2 year old, but Carter was fantastic!  Not only did he love the flights, but he slept for his normal schedule in MN.  He was so good, my father bought him a present when we got home!

My father is from MN and we were able to see our family members when we were out there too.  I haven't seen any of them since my wedding 4 years ago, so it was very exciting!

Thursday we spent the day at the family farm.  Unfortunately it rained all day, but Carter still had fun climbing on the tractors.  That evening it did clear up enough that he was able to take a ride on the Gator with my cousin Ladd.

Friday my Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Michael played with Carter while my parents and I spent the day at Market.  We had so much fun seeing all of the new fabrics coming out soon.  I will be getting a few things up on our website for preorders.  If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw most of the new things we are expecting!

Saturday, my parents gave me the day off to spend with my cousin Jodi and her daughter Morgan. Morgan is 18 Months old and almost as active as Carter.  Jodi and I decided to take them to the zoo. As you can imagine, chasing 2 toddlers around a crowded zoo was pretty entertaining for everyone around.  I do wish we were closer so we could have more playdates like that!

As much fun as a few days in Minnesota was, it was pretty nice to get home to my husband on Sunday night.  Carter was so excited to see his daddy he stayed awake until we got home, even though it was 10:30PM!

Last week was Carters 2nd birthday!!  I cannot believe my little guy is 2!!  My mother-in-law came up from Florida for the week to help us celebrate.  I was able to reuse some of the decorations I made for Carter's 1st birthday this year.  I had the Happy Birthday banner, Balloon fabric tablecloth and the Birthday boy's chair cover.  When I made this last year, I attached a "1" with Velcro. This year I attached a "2"!! Some of you may remember Carter's cake last year, which was a huge undertaking.  This year instead of focusing on the outside decorations, I decided to focus on the inside.  Believe it or not, my polka-dot cake came out exactly as I had planned!!  Carter of course could care less about the colors or shape of the cake, but he really did enjoy eating it!  I'm already starting to think about the cake for next year!!

This week's Quilt Blast Friday Sale is a 25% discount off the Camelot Fabric Ultimate Spiderman II Collection.  Enter code SPIDERMAN25 to obtain the discount.  Offer valid 5/29 through 6/2/15.

While I was away, we received a few new books, patterns and fabric lines in the store.  Be sure to check out our website for new items arriving!

Sarah

Fabric Sales, Handi Quilter and Quilt Market!!!

Greetings from Pawling!

My mom, Carter and I are getting ready to go to Quilt Market in Minneapolis next week.  Not only am I really looking forward to seeing all of the new products coming out in 2015 but I cannot wait to see my relatives that leave nearby.  I have not had an opportunity to see any of them since my wedding in 2011.  I'm sure Carter will have a blast hanging out with his second cousin Morgan, who turned 1 in December.  In addition Carter LOVES tractors, wait until he sees the large tractors at my Uncle Michael's farm.  I think he's going to think he is dreaming!!!

I also think he is going to be really excited when I show him his new backpack.  I bought this special for his trip to fill with his favorite things to do on the plane.  I could not resist getting the backpack with his favorite show "Chica"

We were also very honored to receive the award below from Handi Quilter this week.  As many of you may know, this award is really for my father, Allan.  He sells and services Handi Quilter Longarm machines for us.  He was very proud to add this to our Handi Quilter plaque shelf.

Last week we had our first of 8 Technique of the Month Classes with Jackie Kunkel.  Everyone had so much fun learning new Judy Niemeyer techniques.  I really enjoyed walking around and watching everyone's center come together out of so many different colors!!  I cannot wait to see them finished and share all of the fabulous quilts with you.

I started a new Cutie pattern last week using the Timeless Treasures Tonga Spice Line.   Of course once I had the entire top together, I decided I wanted to change it.  So I spent the last couple of nights taking it apart and laying it back out in a different arrangement.  I think once you see the new version, you are going to love it!  Here's a peak at the one I took apart.

This week's Quilt Blast Friday sale is back by popular demand!  This week enjoy 25% discount off all Moda products.  Online and In store.  Offer excludes the Moda True Luck Fabric line.  Offer Valid 5/8-5/12/15.  Enter code MODA25 to obtain the discount.

We have received a couple new fabric lines this week! I am already creating a new Cutie Pattern for the Moda True Luck fabric line.  As soon as I opened the box I fell in love with these fabrics!!

We also started receiving Christmas fabrics!! The first to arrive was Winter Wonderland by Free Spirit.  These fabrics are just adorable!! I will be sure to keep you updated as we receive our newest lines and continue to get them on our website for you as quickly as possible!

As a reminder our newest Newsletter has been posted with our class schedule from May through August.  Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to sign up and have some fun with us!

I am still working on taking all of the machine quilting stitches out of my Forest Abstractions Quilt.  I hope to get this completed quilted to show you in the next few weeks.  Next week as I mentioned, I will be at quilt market.  The following week, believe it or not, my little Carter will be 2!!  So as much as I have planned in quilting, Carter and I will be taking a few days off to spend with my mother-in-law from Florida and have a Birthday Week of FUN!!

Many of you may remember the infamous cake I made for Carter's 1st Birthday Party!  I did have a test run for Carter's 2nd birthday cake and although somehow my oven was shut off and the cake came out burned on the top and raw all the way through, I do think I'm going to get my poka-dot effect as desired.  Here is a photo as a reminder of Carter's cake last year and the photo of my goals for this year!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week.  I cannot wait to share the stories of Carter travels to Quilt Market!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Thank you

I apologize for being a day late on my blog this week.  We have been busy getting ready for the Northern Quilts Guild Quilt Show in Somers, NY.  We always look forward to this show at Kennedy Catholic High school and were sad to hear this show will be moved to a different location next year. If you are in the area please stop by and see our booth.  We have our Cutie Quilts hanging and lots of Cutie Packs to choose from.  We also have a new "Chubbie Box" Collection containing 16 Fat Quarters.

Three new Cutie Patterns have been added to our website this week including Tillie, Boxed In and Dresden Daisy.  Of course we also have a few new ones in the works.  The one below is called "Santa Clara." The pattern should be completed and available in the next couple of weeks.  This pattern used the Free Spirit Sketchbook Collection - we just love how it came out!!
